For over tens of years the deck, the veneers, the furniture even the keel of a boat are subject to chemical reactions and physical forces. Due to these outside forces certain above mentioned parts of a boat can be renewed or changed at different times. This way the boat will be kept standing safe and healthy.

WOOD CARE AND REPAIR

If we can not protect our boat against outside forces, damages can happen that will cost much to fix and the boat will be unusable.

The botom of a ship must be cleaned and treated so that the boat floats freely and wood worm attack can be prevented. The wood which is to be used for boat repair must be dried and have 15% humidity in it.

Timber like Teak, Iroco, Makore, Afrormosia are exotic type 1st class wood and have long life (Life expectancy over 25 years) Generally all kinds of wood with needle type pointy leafs should not be used where they are openly exposed to heavy loads and water.

PUTTY AND REPAIR

Before repainting a surface, the old paint should be scraped-off and and cleaned well. Prior to primer paint putty filler must be applied and then sanded and then 1st layer of paint and if needed putty filler and primer should be applied again before second layer of paint.

The antifouling paint which will be applied to the outside botom of your boat will prevent the sticking of foulings like sea-weeds mussels and other naturel foulings. The hull will be applied with epoxy putty. Also the hull will be covered with epoxy fiber from the outside and epoxy varnish from the inside.
